How do I unlock a quiz, question or poll?

To prevent distractions in class, interactive questions are locked for students by default. Unlock these for your students as you move through the lesson content together as a class.

We've designed our lessons to be teacher-led and intentionally only use technology where we see it making the most difference for student wellbeing outcomes. Wherever technology goes, distraction tends to follow! We've set up our lessons to minimise student distractions and help you move through lesson content together: as a class. 

Unlocking questions in class

Follow the steps below:

1. Enter Present Mode

   Navigate to the lesson you want to deliver. Select Present Mode:

   
   
   
   Note: Unlocking is not available in the Lesson Preview view.

2. Toggle the 🔒 Lock icon

   During the presentation, you’ll see a lock icon next to each set of interactive questions. Click this to unlock these questions for students on their devices:

   
   
   

3. Share student responses

   For open response and poll questions, you can toggle the “Responses” button to show real, anonymous responses on your screen. This is a great way to prompt discussion.

Can I edit these questions?

If you need to change a question, you’ll need to edit the lesson before class gets underway. You'll also need Admin permissions in Wellio to do this.
