[For Admins](https://help.wellioeducation.com/for-admins?hsLang=en) # How to set up an assessment ## Schedule a pre and post-assessment, or a one-off post-assessment, to see what students have learned from your Wellio lessons. Assessments are short quizzes built from the questions in your Wellio lessons. They're a simple way to show the impact of your program. This article is for **admins** - only admins can create assessments. ### Which type should I choose? - **Pre and post-assessment:** two assessments - one before students go through a batch of lessons, and one afterwards. Choose this to compare what students knew before and after. - **Post-assessment:** a one-off assessment. Choose this if your lessons have already started, or you only need one set of results. You can't change the type once the assessment is published, so it's worth checking before you publish. ### How to set up an assessment 1. Click ***Insights*** in the top navigation bar, then select ***Assessments***. 2. Click ***New assessment***. You can also start from ***Sequences*** - open the ***Assess*** tab on the left and click ***New assessment***. 3. Choose your **Assessment type**, **Academic year** and **Sequence**. 4. Choose the term and week for each date, then click ***Next***. 5. Tick the lessons you want to include. You'll see the number of questions and the estimated completion time update as you go. Click ***Next***. 6. Check the questions, then click ***Publish***. That's it! The assessment will appear in each class on its scheduled dates. You don't need to assign classes one by one. Each assessment belongs to a **sequence**, so every class on that sequence gets it automatically. Have more than one sequence, such as one per year level? Set up a separate assessment for each one. ### Why can't I see Assessments? **Only admins can see Assessments.** Teachers don't see ***Insights*** or ***Sequences***, so ask your school's Wellio coordinator to set it up, or to [make you an admin](https://help.wellioeducation.com/managing-teacher-permissions?hsLang=en). ### Why are there no lessons to select? You'll see **No lessons to assess** if there are no lessons scheduled between your two dates.
