How Wellio's YouTube Embeds Work (Vlite)

To keep classroom content safe and distraction-free, Wellio uses Vlite to restrict how YouTube videos appear inside lessons. This ensures students only see the parts of the video intended.

What is Vlite?

Vlite is a secure video player integration that allows us to define a specific playback range for YouTube videos, and hide everything else. This means:

  • Locked playback - only the selected segment can be viewed

  • No ads - we’ve removed all YouTube overlays and distractions

  • No skipping or clicking around - teachers can’t jump ahead or rewind

What Teachers Need to Know

When playing an embedded video:

  • You can press play and pause

  • You cannot go forward or back

  • The video will reset to the start of the allowed segment if you refresh or revisit the slide
