Embedded videos help to make learning more engaging and relevant by using modern, visual examples, and pop culture references that students connect with.
Videos included in lessons are carefully selected to enhance learning by providing visual explanations and examples of key concepts. With automatic start and stop points, you get only the most relevant content; keeping lessons focused, engaging, and free from distractions.
How videos work in Wellio:
- Videos embedded in Wellio lessons are set to play only the snippet relevant to the lesson.
- Videos will automatically start and stop at specific timestamps set by our lesson writers.
- These timestamps are often used to remove potentially inappropriate content before or after the selected clip.
Please Note: While only the selected clip will play, the full YouTube progress bar remains visible to teachers.
Guidelines for navigating videos in lessons:
To ensure a smooth lesson experience, we strongly recommend previewing all media during your lesson prep.
🚫 Do not:
- Scroll through the video using the progress bar.
- Hit the ‘replay’ button (this resets the selected timestamps)
- Click any recommended videos after the clip ends
✅ If you need to replay a video:
- During your lesson prep, note the start and stop timestamps for reference.
- If there is a technical issue, exit the lesson and restart in Present Mode to reset the timestamps.
Video customisation for Admins:
- Admins can add or remove videos, as well as adjust their start and stop times, directly from the Library tab
