[For Admins](https://help.wellioeducation.com/for-admins?hsLang=en) # Setting up student check-ins ## Get a regular read on how each year level is going between your wellbeing surveys. Check-ins give you a regular read on how each year level is going between your big wellbeing surveys. Students answer one question, *"How are you feeling today?"*, on a schedule you set. It takes them under two minutes, and any student who needs help can ask a staff member they choose. 🔒 Check-ins are set up by **admins**. Teachers run them in class, and the staff on your pastoral team respond to help requests. ### 1. Add your pastoral team Your pastoral team is the staff students can ask for help. You only do this once, before your first check-in. A check-in can't be scheduled until the team is set up, so no student ever asks for help with no one there to answer. 1. Click the ***Sequences*** tab in the top navigation bar. 2. Open the ***Check-in*** panel on the sequences calendar. 3. Add the teachers and admins students can ask for help. After that, you can change the team any time in ***Settings*** › ***Responsibilities***. ### 2. Create a check-in 1. In the ***Check-in*** panel, click ***New check-in***. 2. Choose how often it repeats: weekly, fortnightly or monthly. 3. Set how many school days staff have to acknowledge and resolve a help request. The defaults are 1 day to acknowledge and 5 to resolve. 4. Click ***Student preview*** to see exactly what students will see. ### 3. Schedule it Drag the check-in card onto a week on the calendar. It repeats from that week until the end of the school year, following your school's term calendar. ### 4. Edit, move or delete a check-in Changing a check-in works like a repeating event in Google Calendar. When you edit it, drag it to another week or delete it, choose: - ***This check-in*** - ***This and following check-ins*** - ***All check-ins in this sequence*** You can only change how often it repeats for **following** or **all** check-ins. Dragging a check-in into another sequence always moves the whole series. **Good to know:** once students have answered a check-in, it's locked. It can't be edited, moved or deleted, and changing following or all check-ins leaves answered ones as they are. ### 5. See the results Go to ***Insights*** › ***Check-ins*** to see: - four key numbers, with the change since last term, and a one-sentence summary - how students answered, week by week - help requests by class - every check-in, each with its own page Filter by term and year level. Click ***Download*** for a spreadsheet with a row per student and a column per check-in.
