Why can't I play a video in my lesson?

If you’re trying to play a video in a Wellio lesson and it’s displaying a black screen, it’s likely because your school’s internet filters are restricting access to YouTube.

This is a common issue on school networks where filters are in place to keep students safe online.

How do I fix this?

✅ Check with your school's IT department

Your school’s IT team will be able to whitelist the video links so that they’re viewable for both students and staff. 

To make this easy, we’ve created a file that lists all YouTube and YouTube Shorts used in Wellio lessons. Your IT team can add these to the school’s "allowed list" so that they work properly going forward.
