# Why can't I play a video in my lesson?

If you’re trying to play a video in a Wellio lesson and it’s displaying a **black screen**, it’s likely because your school’s internet filters are restricting access to YouTube.

This is a common issue on school networks where filters are in place to keep students safe online.

### **How do I fix this?**

#### ✅ **Check with your school's IT department**

Your school’s IT team will be able to **whitelist** the video links so that they’re viewable for both students and staff. 

To make this easy, we’ve created a file that lists **all YouTube** and **YouTube Shorts** used in Wellio lessons. Your IT team can add these to the school’s "allowed list" so that they work properly going forward.
