Why are my lesson edits not appearing after publishing?

If you aren't seeing your updated lesson content, here's why - and what you can do about it.

Why edits don't immediately appear

Wellio uses version locking to protect students who are already working through a lesson. When a lesson is assigned to a class, that class is locked to the version that was already in progress. This means:

  • Students in that class continue to see the original version they started with.
  • New edits you publish won't automatically appear for students who have already begun.

This is intentional - it prevents students from experiencing jarring mid-lesson changes, such as a question being removed or reworded after they've already answered it.

Will new classes see the updated version?

Yes. Any class assigned that is still yet to start the lesson after you publish your edits will see the updated version.

What if I still want all classes to see the changes?

If you need all teachers and students to see the updated content, contact our support team - we may be able to assist with unlocking and re-locking a class to the latest version, depending on how far students have progressed.
