Configuring term dates for Northern/Southern Hemisphere schools

Align Wellio's terms, lessons, and reporting with your school's academic year - including Northern Hemisphere calendars that run August to June.

Wellio is built to support schools all over the world.

By default, new accounts are set up against the Australian school year (late January to mid-December), but if your school runs on a different academic calendar – for example, an August 2026 to June 2027 year used by many international schools in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK, the US, and Europe – we can switch this over for you.

How to request a term configuration change

Send an email to our Support team at support@wellioeducation.com letting us know you'd like your school set up on a Northern/Southern Hemisphere academic year.

Adjusting your term dates (admins-only)

Lessons in a sequence are scheduled week by week, based on your school's term dates. If your term dates don't match your school's calendar, lessons will show in the wrong week. For example, a lesson might be scheduled for tomorrow when you want to deliver it today.

School admins can update term dates at any time:

  1. Click the Sequences tab in the top navigation bar.
  2. Click the Settings (⚙️) icon in the top-right toolbar.
  3. In Term dates, update the From and To dates for each term.
  4. Click Save.

Lessons in your sequences will move to match the new term dates.

Want to deliver a lesson earlier than scheduled?

You don't need to change your term dates to teach a lesson early. Teachers can open and present any lesson in their sequence:

  1. Open your class.
  2. Scroll to All lessons and click the lesson you want to teach.
  3. Click Present.

🔒 This request should come from a teacher or staff member with Admin-level access to Wellio. We'll only action calendar changes on instruction from a school admin, as it affects the whole school's setup.
