How to use Wellio when students don't have access to devices

Updated over a week ago

Teachers can use Device-Free Mode to deliver lessons in Wellio when their students do not have access to electronic devices. This option also allows lessons to continue uninterrupted during periods of technical or behavioural challenges.

How to turn on device free mode:

  1. Navigate to your class and click on the lesson you're looking to deliver.

  2. Click on the three dot button (next to Present Mode)

    1. Select the Present Mode (Device Free) option from the drop-down menu

Using Wellio's interactive tools in Device-Free Mode:

Students will still view any videos embedded in the lesson as part of the teacher's presentation.

Instead of the students responding to embedded questions from their own devices, use these questions as a basis for classroom discussion or polling in the room - making use of your whiteboard or any other tools you have available.

After classroom discussion, toggle Responses on to reveal the example answers or average poll data from schools across Australia and UK to further the conversation.

Tracking student progress in Device-Free Mode:

The platform can not track each individual student's progress while in Device-Free Mode. We encourage teachers to only use Device-Free Mode in the instance where most or all students do not have access to their own electronic device.

Once the lesson has been delivered, the lesson itself will be marked as complete.

To sign your students up in the Wellio platform, follow these steps.
